About

…the blog

Waiting To Be Found is a Berlin-based blog that looks at the past and present of central and eastern Europe through its history, art and literature. Most of my writing focuses on the German cultural sphere. The blog contains details and observations from my personal travels, supplemented with background information from websites, books, and other interesting sources.

I’m just a history enthusiast as well as a lover of central and eastern European (although especially German) art and literature. I don’t have a degree or professional background in any of these subjects. I just love to travel and dig deep into the local history and culture as I go, and thought that others might find this stuff cool too.

I’m originally from Vancouver, Canada, and have been living in Berlin for the last four years. Between my travels, I work as a researcher and policy analyst on topics related to EU economic integration and financial regulation. I speak English, German, French, and a tiny bit of Polish.
